How can I control wood-boring beetles in my car port?
Powderpost beetles. What are these creatures, and how do you know you have them, and if so, how does one get rid of them?
I just got a piece of antique mahogany furniture that has insects in it, judging from the scat that has accumulated on the floor underneath. I want to use the least-toxic method to get rid of the insects, for example using borax. Could you send me a recipe for a formula, or else a recommendation for a product that has no synthetic pesticides in it? Also, what is the best tool and technique for application?
I am inquiring about powder post beetles, we have an infestation in a piece of sculpture, the wood is maple burl from Oregon. Our question, is will freezing work? And if so, at what temperature at what length of time?
